22/4/10 - League
Hamworthy Recreation 5 Blandford Utd 0
A vibrant Rec took to the pitch looking to gain another vital 3 points in their pursuit of the league title. With the amount of games being played changes were made to benefit all in the squad and everyone was on their game. Blandford have had some good results and were not to be taken lightly.
The greens started brightly and were on the offensive from the kick off. Jamie Moores beat his opponent and struck the ball hard and low beyond the visiting keeper to give Rec the lead.
There was no looking back as the home side out battled, out ran and out passed their opponents. Shaun Brian headed home the second as Rec took a comfortable 2-0 lead into half time.
It was not long after the restart that Rec got their 3rd of the night and it came courtesy of Dan Manuel finishing off in the box. Some brilliant work by Rich Sands down the right saw him deliver for Dan Manuel to head home for number 5.
Between times Jamie Moores buried the ball for his 2nd and Rec’s 4th of the match.
A welcome return after an injury lay off saw Talisman Mike Notley introduced to the game. He looked as sharp as ever and his return gave the team a boost. Final score: Ham Rec 5 Blandford 0
