20/4/10 - League
Hamworthy Recreation 8 Cranborne 0
On a fine Spring evening Ham Rec welcomed Cranborne to Magna Road. A huge week in the title race meant no further slip ups for the greens. A hard fought win at Cranborne during the Christmas period made this fixture a tricky one.
Rec came out of the traps brightly and set about getting the victory they needed from the very first whistle. Their passing was crisper and their work rate greatly improved on previous games. As with most sides during the hectic end to the season, our visitors did not have their full squad which made their task that much harder.
Rec took the lead after 10 mins and never looked back. Some slick moves saw some great goals scored and other good passages of play led to chances being denied. Half time saw the greens go into the break with a 5-0 advantage with the scorers being- Hole 2, Dykes, Boyt and Manuel.
Changes were made in the second period but the performance continued. Many more chances came and went but a fine finish from Jamie Moores got Rec’s 6th with Dan Blackburn slotting home the 7th before an own goal rounded off the scoring.
Goal difference may be important so a pleasing tally and sound performance.
