Hamworthy Recreation 1  Wincanton Town 0
Some ' leggy ' players took to the field against Wincanton who had produced a good 1 all draw with title contenders Westlands on the Thursday evening.
A bright start by the Greens once again forced their opponents back but they could not convert the chances being created. The late goal on Thursday was fresh in the minds of all and nobody a wanted a case of De Ja Vou.
An Ash Boyt free kick was launched goal bound but whether it was a cross or a shot he will never admit but it ended up in the Wincanton net to give the Greens a 1-0 lead.
Rather than kick on from the goal Rec seemed to ease off the pace a little and make the game more of a contest (as they did v Swanage).
The second half followed a similar pattern to the previous game but the ball spent a lot of time in the middle of the park with neither side really creating much in the way of chances. 90 minutes were up when the referee adjudged Ash Ayley to have fouled a visiting forward. Rec’s hearts sank as a season’s hard work appeared to be slipping away quickly.  Rec’s man of the moment Kevin Leanord blocked the spot kick to earn Rec a vital 3 points. His third penalty save against Wincanton this season and every one in time added on.
This save will hopefully galvanise the Rec players and drive them on for the season’s vital upcoming fixtures.
