Saturdays defeat at Holt hit the players hard and a visit to neighbours Parley was not a game to take lightly. How the team bounced back was of major importance to the title challenge.
Some early pressure put our opponents on the back foot and it was not long before a fine ball in from the right hand side was met by Jamie Moores head to give Rec an early lead. Minutes later a similar move was converted by the same player’s head to double the lead. More chances came Recs way but the half time score was 2-0 to the visitors.
The second half was a tighter affair but Recs defence limited their hosts to shots from range. A good passing move saw a shot blocked, but Wayne Hole following up put in the rebound to make it 3-0 and the game safe.
Substitute Dan Manuel had time to rob the keeper before a calm finish from an acute angle rounded off a satisfactory evening for Rec. Final score Parley 0 Rec 4.
