Cranborne 1 Ham Rec 3
On a chilly but bright morning in Cranborne the kick off was delayed half an hour so one goalmouth could thoroughly defrost.
When the game did get underway it was Rec who started quickest but below par none the less. Jamie Moores was denied by the home keeper when he won a header following a corner and soon turned provider when he squared a ball to Mike Notley who, at full stretch, could not quite get enough on the ball to steer it home.
The welcomed breakthrough came from another set piece. Moores won the ball again, it was stopped on the line and Ryan Lucas pounced to slam the ball into our hosts net. Everyone was guilty of poor passing and decision making, making hard work of a game Rec should have been more superior in. A good passing move did eventually see Notley put clear to neatly finish and put the greens into the break with a 2 goal advantage.
Hamworthy started the second period looking more driven and like a side that are
top of the league and full of confidence. The half was only minutes old when Lucas
got on the end of a cross to put the visitors 3-
The points were again the important factor but a much improved performance as a team and individuals is needed on Saturday.
