Ham Rec 4  Ham U Res. 1
After an uneventful week at the County Ground, Rec did not know what to expect from The Hammers when they arrived at Magna road.  From the off the home side got into their usual rhythm of passing and creating chances.  Some good moves saw the ‘green army’ make one on one chances for Jamie Moores but his shootings boots were obviously at home!
Nonetheless the front two kept pulling the Ham United defence all over the shop and it looked as if when we got one goal the flood gates would open.
Rec’s opening goal came from a corner. It was well met by Shaun Brian whose header was blocked on the line but skipper Ryan pounced to make it 1–0. Just before half time a good move saw Mike Motley, who was being manhandled, hold off the centre backs and play Lucas in who calmly stroked the ball home for his, and the home side’s second; 2-0.
The second half saw further home chances blocked or missed, the best being ‘batman Davidson’s blast over with the goal wide open.  Substitute Ashley Ayley made no mistake when a cross came his way with a tidy left foot finish; 3-0.  A lapse of concentration saw us concede a consolation goal (3-1) but ‘Batman Davidson’ capped a good team performance with a goal late in the game; 4-1.
Another valuable 3 points on the board with some difficult another valuable 3 points on the board.
