Swanage Town 2 Hamworthy Rec 2
In a hard fought match the points were shared at Days Park.
For the second time in 3 days we were a goal down inside 2 minutes when Swans’ Jason Harrup found the target with a “wonder strike”; 0-1. Hamworthy once again went about their usual game and at times their passing was a pleasure to watch. Jamie Davidson on his full debut looked dangerous and always likely to produce something. The breakthrough came courtesy of Davidson with a cross shot after a spell of continued pressure on the hosts’ goal; 1-1. With their spirits lifted Rec continued to pressure the Swanage defence and when Sean Hogan got to the by-line and crossed, it was his other wide man Jesse Hodgson that arrived to volley home; 2-1.
De ja vu. 2nd half starts, numerous chances for the visitors but to no avail. The swan’s keeper was having an excellent game. Had Rec scored in this 15 minute period I am sure they would have gained all 3 points. The visitors pressed and pressed for a 3rd goal but it was Swanage who found the net after a fleet cross was headed home by Joe Kittle; 2-2. Late on the home keeper thwarted anything Rec threw at him.
