Hamworthy Recreation 6 Parley Sports 0
Parley were the visitors to Magna Road on a dull damp night. The weather had added zip to the already perfect playing surface which the Rec players relished.
Another 100 mph start from the Greens saw them take an early lead. A through ball found Wayne Hole who outpaced the Parley defence before lofting the ball over their keeper to give his side the perfect start; 1-0.
It did not take long before the lead was doubled. A ball in from the right wing found Mike Notley who slipped, sat on the ball then got up and tapped the ball home!; 2-0.
Parley had a spell of possession but did not trouble the Rec rearguard who were looking to add to their impressive tally of clean sheets for the season which has gone a very long way to getting the side in the position they are in.
A third goal came and Jamie Moores was the scorer with a typically clinical finish; 3-0
Mark Dykes who was back to full fitness got in on the goals before half time to make the score; 4-0.
The second period saw Rec playing the ball around in a classy manner and continue to probe for more goals.
Notley went through to score Recs 5th before Moores scored the Greens 6th goal and Rec’s 99th league goal of the campaign.
Chances came and went for Rec as the score finished 6-0. A dull and damp evening but a lively performance well worth watching.
